Does St. Tammany Really Have a 17,000-Home Shortage?
The approximately 11,500 to 17,300 figure is a scenario range through 2030. It is not a count of 17,000 homes currently missing.
The scenarios combine employment-growth housing, older-housing revitalization/replacement, and senior-population growth. Renovation or one-for-one replacement does not necessarily create net-new units, and aging into 75+ does not automatically create a new household.
